Reproduction conditions and expected results
The original fixture reproduced a stall in Safari on iOS 18.0 (22A3351) and
iOS 26.3.1 (23D8133) Simulators. Unmodified VHS and the patched default stayed at
0 seconds with readyState=2 and a pending play() promise.
The patched opt-out advanced beyond 20 seconds with readyState=4.
This page runs in your current browser. It does not emulate an older Safari. Safari 26.4 includes the documented WebKit fix. Earlier releases have not all been tested. A network or player error is a separate result from the reported stall.
All variants use Video.js 8.24.1 core with native text tracks enabled and
overrideNative: true and experimentalUseMMS: true.
No listener removes tracks. The public Apple BipBop sample is loaded from Apple's CDN.
Browser information
The user agent can contain a frozen OS version. Record the actual device or Simulator runtime separately.
